Holy Cow!

I've been MIA for over a week I'm sure of it. I think I have atleast a week of F-list to wade through and even less time to be able to do it.

Kids are home on holidays, I'm babysitting a girlfriends kids on top of that while she works at the Royal Show.

AND.

My new computer comes this week, fully programed and brand spakin new. Along with that im changing service providers and switching from Dial up to Broad Band, which means a new email address! Which means Ima have to go through all the groups I am a memeber of and subscribe to, to change my e-mail!

*Grrr's* Not enough hours in my day lately. *sighs*

Oh... Ashlee has four teeth now, and only sleeps once in the afternoon for two hours.. Who says theyre easier as they get older? LOL

Bit Of A Ramble + An Update Stuffs

Well I still haven't got a Beta, which is frustrating me to no end... there's just this completed chapter sitting there doing nothing, waiting, growing virtual dust. *BAH!* It's putting me off on writing the next one to tell the truth.. I'll live I s'pose.

I've started my lil' Fic for the

sshg_exchange ... and that my friends is coming along decidedly yummy ..mmm *dreamy sigh* .. Of course I can't tell you anything about that at the moment with the secretiveness and all that but... I think its gonna be Okay (even if I am still nervous about who I think I'm writing it for).

The kids are driving me batty this week! ... are they ever going to grow out of trying to get each other into trouble? I don't remember being that bad as a kid. Honestly, It's enough to consider boarding school sometimes. LOL

On a more upbeat note! *grins widely* I'm getting my new PC next week! *bounces up and down* This one is such a dinosaur, I'm so looking forward to a brand new everything. *shivers* I just can't wait! Even the bunky dial ups hittin' the road, BROAD BAND NEXT MONTH BABY!! *WHOOHOO!*

What Should I Do?

So... erm... I sent the new chapter of Obsession off to my Beta over a month ago and haven't heard anything back... at all.

When I originally contacted her about slaying my chapter with red text, she'd said her que was extremely short, that she was working through it all that week and to send it on over. I dropped her a line yesterday but haven't heard anything yet.

(Mind, real life can sometimes get in the way of our best intentions, look how long it's taken me to get the blasted thing written in the first place lol)

So knowing that RL does happen now and then (LOL) I went back to the site I had gotten her Beta info from, to see if there was an update about any hiccups she may be experiencing at present... Only she's not listed at all anymore, so I did the only thing I could do. Google.

Well, I've found her LJ (score) but that was even worse. Now I just feel horrible! Her last entry was a few days before I contacted her about Beating up my chap'. In which she mentions blood pressure problems and saving for a sonogram-guided biopsy for breast cancer as she has no insurance. I feel rotten I didn't know any of this before hand otherwise I wouldn't dare have even asked! She's just such a good beta that I contacted her straight away when my chapter was completed.

Now I'm kind of in limbo I guess. Having waited a month already and answered reviews stating that an update was just around the corner... how long is a polite period to wait for an e-mail response? .. AND.. Would it be bad form to try and find another Beta, knowing that she is having some pretty big health problems, without having heard a reply.

I don't want to commit some Beta faux-pas and end out insulting her.

Any advice/suggestions would be welcome!

Completely Daunted!

So we've been given our selected prompts for the

sshg_exchange and I'm like, 98% certain I know who requested my prompt.

Needless to say that I'm feeling so out of my depth and absolutely FUCKING nervous now!

I'm a massive huge fan of her Fic's as she's one of the greatest out there and I'm completely chagrined to realize, that I'm totally not good enough to even think about writing something for her.

CRIKEY! He's Croaked it!

So...Steve Irwin, one of Australia's 'supposed' Australian icons, was killed by a Sting Ray to the heart.

How utterly, utterly ironic can you get! ... Personally I'm not a big fan, the bloke totally got up my nose, but the kids absolutely loved him (which doesn't surprise me, he woulda done well on Play School LOL)

I thought for sure he would have been taken out by a Croc' or some other savage beast he was renowned for chasing down... just goes to show that Murphy's Law really does exist.

Are You Still Cool?

At what age do you become ebarrassing-ly uncool?

I like to think I'm relatively "cool" so to speak, I'm the mother of 3 at the tender age of 26.
I still like my music loud (when the baby's not sleeping lol).
I still like to perv on hot, buff guys (when im not with my partner of course lol).
I still like to go away for dirty weekends (when we can synchronize all the nana's lol).

But my daughter *Thumbs to the left* told me today to stop dancing around, singing to the top 10 on video hits while I was putting the dishes away. I laughed and asked why and she informed me with all the seriousness of an 8 yr old.. "It's just embarrassing mum!"

*Hmph* I mean really! She makes it sound like I'm ready for the retirement home! ...If she can blast 'The Veronica's' CD in her room and dance around singing at the top of her lungs...why cant I?

Maybe it's not how old WE get, but how old that THEY get that we become completely uncool...

Feeling decidedly old now. *sniffles*

Update

Well I've finally finished chapter 10 of Obsession all 3,328 words of it. LOL

I am just waiting for a Beta now *shakes head* I've been through three you know!

It's like as soon as I have someone proof reading my chaps, they go and get really good jobs.

So it shouldn't be long provided I can pin one down somewhere.

I'm quiet impressed with the postal service actually, I sent an international money order (just dont trust myself with a credit card lol), express delivery, from Australia to the U.S and it only took SIX days for it to reach its destination AND be processed! How good is that!

New Chap? + A Ramble

Ok, well ...I've decided not to up load the new chappy.. now, now. No throwing food stuffs, there's some perfectly good reasons.

1. It's not finished, It only has a 1700 word count. (I try to make them at least 2k)
2. There's only about 3 paragraphs of HG/SS in it..and well..I fear flames for that. LOL
3. ...Wouldn't rather wait for the end product all beta'd and puurdy?

.. So I'm like UBER naughty! yesterday I went to a girlfriends and had a BBQ lunch. Whats wrong with that you say? ..Well I had a few vodka's to pass the time while I was there... since I'm not accustomed to that anymore I came home and promptly slept from 5pm-8:15pm ..now it's like 4:30 am in the morning!!

I'm gonna have a long day I can just feel it , looks like I'll be having a 'Nana Nap' this arvo when bubs does. LOL
